Evaulation

Upon reflection of this whole unit I have a lot to work to do for future assignments which will include more in depth research, notes, better timekeeping, attendance, going into detail more and saving any workshop/camera work I partake as all of these are crucial for my own personal development. In future I will give myself clear objectives and tasks to do so that I can not only complete the work but also complete it to a high level. When going group work again I would communicate better with the group and understand my role better to help with the group task at hand. I do however feel that I have learned how to use the camera and equipment in a way that I can contribute to tasks in future.

Development notes

I unfortunately missed the feedback call for my first draft of my script which meant the feedback given was very little to go off. It was noted that my script lacked conflict and didn’t need a long start to it like I had wrote in my first draft. I personally am unsure what was wrong with the script not having conflict as it's set in a happy and positive tone which I had thought wasn’t necessity of need of conflict hence why I hadn’t included it. In future I would develop my skills in storytelling before attempting a first draft and include conflict when needed.

Workshop films

We have had a few different opportunities to film on locations all of which have helped me develop my camera skills and communication skills within working in a group. The editing workshops have helped me develop and grow my editing skills including how I can use what I have learnt for future projects. For the camera workshops I have learnt how to operate and handle the camera and equipment all of which had helped me when we have shot a group project on location of onsite.  I unfortunately didn’t realise at the time of the workshops I would later need the footage/editing material so didn’t save it the time and no longer have them this of course is my own mistake.

Script review

I have chosen to analyse the plot script for The Office a much loved show of mine it's starts of by introduction Michael Scott and his quirky character straight away. He is introduced in a potentially controversial way which shows of his true characteristics right off of the bat which follow a similar suit thought the show. I feel the choice of the contradicting characters helps the story intertwine it's deep and the detailed characters individual likeness for each other. The choice to choose Michael Scott as the leader of a chaotic office helps make it comedic that a lunatic is manging what should be a professional environment for the staff. It is a comedy masterpiece and this is due to the very well put together script and characteristics of the characters as well as how the interact with one another. The first introduction to Dwight shows his complete untrusting and disbelief of Michael in a suspicious way. It's clear that they have contradicting personalities and each g...
